February 2014:

"I have stayed in this delightful house for three times over the last yeat, in pretty much every season other than spring. For anyone who loves Brittany, this is a quintessentially Britton place, with a lot of charm and very well located close to everything in Morbihan, including of course the ocean. Not far from the center of the village, it is probably in the most pleasant place where you can take a nice walk along a small road in the wood or spend the afternoon sipping wine or tea on the beautiful terrace and the evening in front of the burning fireplace. It is so cozy that it was always a difficult choice to decide whether to go somewhere for sightseeing or stay at home and enjoy the sun and the serene tranquility of the place. This place is equally good for a family as for sole travelers. Deborah, the owner, is extremely helpful, positive and resourceful. Overall excellent value for the price. "

August 2013:

"Just writing to say thank you for the really lovely stay.  We followed your suggestion and absolutely gorged ourselves at St Guillaume, and our daughters were so pleased with the horse centre.  We also were delighted with the house - the kitchen was so spacious and well-equipped, it was wonderful.  In fact we made friends with some people we met at the oyster festival and had them round for drinks and a simple dinner, and it was so pleasant receiving them, talking in the garden with the sun going down.  We have told our best friends about the house, and they will be in touch with you to reserve for later this fall.

May 2013:

"Great fun.  Our girls made friends with the daughter at the Ty Forn (note:  the crêperie/bar in the centre of the village of Ste Hélène) and spent most days playing with her on the square.  We got to sit in the shade and relax with our drinks, and brought the backgammon set with us from the house.  Your tip on the water park saved us when the weather turned, and then we just came home and had dinner in front of the fire.  Many thanks.

May 2013:

"Thanks again.  Is it too early to book for next spring?  We only got to half of all there was to do.

October 2012:

"Following our enjoyable holiday at your property this year we hope that the dates above in 2013 are available.  Look forward to hearing from you."

August 2012:

"We very much enjoyed our holiday.  Your gite is very comfortable and spacious and we went out every day to places of interest which you had suggested.  We particularly enjoyed the zoo at Pont Scorff and a boat trip round the Gulf of Morbihan.  We also visited local markets and ate very well.  We especially enjoyed the food and the ambiance at the Ty Forn in the village (incidentally, in Welsh this means 'my home')."

August 2012:

"Once again many thanks for making our stay in Ste Hélène sur Mer so enjoyable and comfortable.  We all had a fantastic holiday and thoroughly enjoyed staying in your lovely house.

In particular, your local knowledge and advice was invaluable to us and clearly there is much more to see and do than can be undertaken during any one visit; hence every reason why we will want to return some time in the future."

June 2012:

"We have had a great week, lots of walks and exploring by car, finished off perfectly today with a wonderful lunch at Le St.Guillaume - thank you so much for telling us about that place.  And it was a sunny day!  Our first really good day but the weather has not been a problem.  The advice you gave us about where to buy fish was also good and the butcher at the Intermarche, so we have benefitted from all your help."

March 2012:

"We stayed in this wonderful house for a couple of months while between homes, and during the winter months.  It is a warm and cosy house, that is comfortable, well fitted out and spacious.  Each memeber of the family had their own cosy little corner, and we came together in the huge kitchen for meals. We loved the village, the surroundings and the whole experience. We lit fires and read books. We walked to the village for fresh bread and croissants. We fed the birds on the back terrace and watched the squirrels scamper in the trees. I hung out washing on mild windy days and picked bay leaves, thyme and rosemary from the garden. I'm only sorry we weren't there long enough to see it in spring...! Believe me, you will fall in love with this house."

June 2011:

"Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had at your lovely vacation home in Brittany.  Our friends from Cornwall were there also and they also had a wonderful time.  You've done a very nice job on the decorating and we all like the central and very quiet location and charming surrounding villages.  The crêpe place in Plouhinec was especially good.  We literally ate our way through many meals of moules, huîtres, langoustines and crêpes plus all the fabulous desserts.  I'm sorry your local seafood favorite was not open until Thursday, when we were gone.  We did however find a great place to buy fresh seasfood on the water in St Cado.

The weather was cool but hardly any rain.  I found a very nice walking trail past the farm field that went into the forest and down by the bay.  I'm certain you know which one I mean.  We toured most all the local area and especially liked Auray and the old port of St Goustan.  We found a chocolatier there by the river which was out of this world - went there twice!  Also Quiberon and the coast toward the northwest.  Thanks again for a fun time and hope to do it again soon."

April 2011:

"We had a wonderful time.   The weather helped of course....sunny, clear skies the entire week.    As a result, we spent our days outside exploring the many lovely towns and beaches nearby (Carnac, Etel, Trinité sur mer etc.).   Lovely area.

As for the house, it was really what we expected.  Charming, very comfortable place for families with young children.   We would be happy to return in the future."

January 2011:

"I enjoyed my winter visit. Admittedly, Brittany may not be quite as delightful as in summer, but I very much enjoyed the tranquil, slow pace and calmness that pervaded all. The house is very well equipped and the fireplace was a treat. And the local inn makes a very nice rum grog (or 2 or 3)."

October 2010:

"We enjoyed your house very much: the peace and quiet; the well-equipped kitchen; and the essential Internet! Lovely autumn weather - just walked out the door and walked and explored all the forest/estuary paths - perfect!"

September 2010:

"Lovely gîte, one of the best - thanks for a lovely time."

August 2010:

"I just wanted to send a delayed note to say how much we enjoyed staying in your house... We found the house very comfortable and I must say the best equipped kitchen in a holiday home... The walk into the village was perfect especially with the boys early in the morning for fresh bread and croissants…We are interested in renting it again next summer so will be in touch closer to the dates."

June 2010:

"As we're just leaving this morning, I wanted to drop a line to say thank you. Lovely house and lovely area. We'd gladly return as we only got to do a tiny percentage of everything here."

May 2010

"Stayed there with our kids. Enjoyed it very much. Cute little town. Close to oyster restaurants and the beaches. House was very comfortable.

April 2010:

"A very nice house that was just right for a romantic get away with lovely walks and restaurants nearby - from an excellent one with tablecloths and candles to outdoor tables next to the oyster farm where the fresh oysters and chilled white wine were memorable."
